...Seriously, that is nooot a healthy relationship... it's just plain creepy. And the books are full of purple prose; the writing's almost laughable. Then there's the fact that Bella's almost certainly a self-insert--Meyer herself mentioned that Bella listens to the same music as her or some shit like that. Even guy who plays Edward in the movie thinks it's weird--he read the book(s) and described them as being like Meyer's "wet dream". I USED to like Twilight... then I got disillusioned.

I have never read the books and i saw the movie some time ago... I liked it, it was as you say decent. And it had some good effects in it like the running and stuff.
Some parts of the movie i thought were funny. And i got them after i read the book. They interpreted well.
Everybody has their own vision of a character in a book.
I didn't like Harry Potter at all. Because i don't like daniel radcliffe. But that doesn't mean it sucks....

I grew up on COPS, so the jerky camera angles don't create a feeling of drama or suspense in me, like they do in some people. Neither does screaming. I find myself annoyed by the people in the trailer rather than interested in them or their situation. There's nothing to grab onto...wait, what is their situation?
I think people are just jumping at the idea of screaming, things blowing up and lots of ambiguity. Reminds me of 9/11, which I'm sick of hearing about as well.

I worked with John Schneider (Bo Duke) on a film call "Conjurer" filmed in Georgia last March. He was talking about this movie that he and Tom Wopat (Luke Duke) were going to be working on a movie called Trailer Trash next year.
I'm assuming that this is the same flick. Everything he told me about the movie sounded great. I just thought it was funny that he and Tom would be working together again.

Used with accuracy, the composition delivers a powerful intensity that suits that particular film. It is used at sporadic parts in the film to intensify the specified imagery. If i say indiana jones you could hum the music it's so well known. Exciting music that enhances the feel of the film.
Take away the music to Jaws or any good film and you will find it has less impact. Score can carry the audience, engage them emotionally along with the film dialogue and visual imagery. I'm not talking about big emotional tear jerking music trying to exaggerate the feel of a film. I'm talking specific music for specific imagery enhancing the scene and impact of the film.
The fact is we will listen to types of music depending on our feeling at that moment. We won't listen to music if we don't feel like it (feel). It depends on our moods (mood). Right i'm off to listen to my ipod and in case i don't see you again...good afternoon good evening and i'm right!

In Bruges was brilliant too.

The story is constantly moving forward at a pace and the whole idea of mercenaries becoming the hunted is brilliant. The marching music theme throughout the film ads to the pace and along with the punchy dialogue and presence of the alien keeps the audience engaged and focused.
Your directed to believe that this group of people cannot fail with their first encounter against the local malisha. Only when the alien is fully viewed in action and takes out big jessie ventura do you feel their fuc*** lol
And dont even get me started on Aliens......Amazingly crafted right throughout. Stunning!
Check out a film called The Circle on DVD Sam. I have been told it's tops. You can find it on the World Cinema shelf in all good film stores and some bad ones too lol

I had a movie day today:D I was really bored, so I watched Indiana Jones, which came out much better than I expected, 10000BC, which is really good. I had that bad feeling I should expect something like Gibson's Apocalypto..ewwwh
I watched Jumper a week ago and it's...it's not that bad. And 21's waiting to be watched...hmm
I really want to see Wall-E, it's coming out in few days, The Fighter, because Aronofsky is genius and I'm curious about Depp in Shantarah...And of course Harry potter:D

I'm sure he puts most money into his franchises at this stage. The advertising tried to hype the film with the backing of the Sixth Sense and Signs, but left out the bad bad follow ups (The Village, Lady in the Water etc etc)
The film was so bad it was comical! There isn't enough room to detail why so i won't. Ego's would suffer.

It seems like people don't get that this list was created in 2007 to let people know that out of the hundred+ movies that had been announced for release in 2008, the author(s)/administrator and his/their sources had identified 55 that (based on write-ups and possibly trailers that were available at that point) seemed like they would be the top movies.
It seems like he/they were careful to select movies from different genres, so not every movie on the list is likely to appeal to everyone, but there should definitely be SOMETHING for everyone. If you have really broad interests perhaps you would like them all.
The fact that not every movie of 2008 was on the list should come as no surprise as this list was specifically designed to be the 2007 PREDICTION OF THE MUST SEE MOVIES FOR 2008.
Maybe last fall he/they didn't know about your favorite movie yet. Maybe he/they didn't think your movie seemed like it should be on the list of the TOP 55 MUST-SEES.
Give 'em a little credit for taking the time to put this together. It was very helpful in my quest to think of my own favorite movies for the year so far. All of your comments regarding movies you would have liked to see on the list were helpful as well, but it seems so rude and aggressive to attack the administrator who did us all a favor by compiling a list to begin with!
I suggest that we all quit asking 'em to change the darn list and instead just tell him what would have been on our personal list . If they change the list now, it would no longer be a representation of their 2007 movie predictions! How about comments like...like "I don't know what trailers you watched last year, but I saw movie A and I thought it sucked..." or "Wow you missed it by a mile when you left Movie B off your list because it rocked! Better luck next year..." Get the drift?
Obviously, scads of people think Twilight should've been on the list, but it wasn't--get over it. Recommend it to the other posters, instead of chastising the administrator for not doing it in the first place! I don't want to be rude and bossy, but after reading this entire thread it seemed like a huge number of people didn't understand the original topic.
I also noticed that there has been a lot of cursing and maybe you would, maybe you would say the same thing with your 10 year old daughter/niece/neighbor sitting next to you, but keep in mind that they are just as likely to be on here reading about movies as you and show a little courtesy. Obviously, some posters have identified themselves as early - mid teens. I'm no prude and my inner tuck-driver (no offense truck drivers) comes out at times, but this just seems like a place where I need to keep that in check--save it for your porn chat rooms and singles venues, etc.
Maybe, I should have named myself Bossy-gal, but I would love to come back and find this awesomely informational site a little more enjoyable to read. I thought that maybe if everyone understood the concept and intention of the site, it might diffuse some of the angry comments and uninformed remarks.

The wrestler is as good, if not better than all the movies on that list. 55 chances, and you couldn't get it right.
"THE DARK KNIGHT"
The brilliant score never over or under scored but aided the movement and the rhythm of the cuts. It was well edited scored shot and acted. The score maintained a drive in the film, almost a push. It was a well used undertone including the demonic internal combustion ensemble used to articulate the jokers internal mindscape.
I haven't given this film analyses in depth. I wont. I will leave it as it is, an epic where all the components were coherently pulled/crafted together creating a film that courts grandeur and surely best film of the year.
It should not be viewed in the context of another commercial flick even though it's purpose has this residue greasing it's roots and why not, business is business.
There has been too much invested and well executed material to relegate this film as a commercial hit only.
Therefore it should be accompanied by that solidified globe oscar for best film and best director.

What we have here is something that needs to be addressed. This is for all directors who have lost the plot and are looking for words of comfort...... "ALL STEPHEN KING NOVELS DO NOT MAKE GOOD MOVIES"!
The specialist horror writer himself must of laughed his ass off at this diabolically inept tacky cheap tragic attempt at a novel to film transition.
I have some sympathy for Darabont (director of SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION), one of the greatest films ever printed on 35mm. So for this reason i will stop here and spare the director anymore inescapable tragic insights into what went wrong. There is simply too much to say. STUDENTS SHOULD BE MADE WATCH THIS FILM AND LEARN HOW WRONG A FILM CAN GO AND WHAT YOU COULD DO TO TRANSFORM A DOWER DISASTER OF A MOVIE INTO A PALATABLE FLICK!
Finally i would like to end this piece on the following.
Why and how did the director (Darabont) not realize what he was filming was shockingly bad and was not what he had planned? Surely he checked out the 3D CGI with the company before the beginning of shooting making sure that this material (which the film heavily relied on) was up to current standards and passable in the context of current CGI.
Alien was made in 1979 and still holds up to anything that is out there. Artistically created directed and acted, a mammoth SCI FI film without all the CGI that works on every filmic level. It brings a thick cloud of shame over this tripe called 'the mist' that robbed people of their money.
It took me a few weeks to get over this and trust my senses again but i got there when i watched Alien and Aliens respectively.

I know prices have soared over the years but the point i made about the (first alien film) is, no CGI. Just artists using their talent and imaginations. When you don't have this in your locker then you run into trouble and the same regurgitated tripe keeps ripping people off.
Twilight was a strategically well marketed poorly made film aimed at kids and teens, but hey film is a business too for sure.

i for one will not be watching or reading the books or films... the acting omg the acting was so bad , the speacial and graphic effect are so bad like somehting form the 1930 films which i do perfere. i really think they had the budget of so much but went out and got pissed and spent most of it so they must have to of cut back on every thing even acting ..

You could have a crew on a transport ship discovering this alien planet. They are shot down and discover this predator alien race. Here the humans discover that the predator allows the aliens to grow allowing for the hunt. The humans need to escape the planet and avoid both races!
This would seem the most natural line to follow. Going back to the start is risky (even for ridley scott. Their could be so much scope if we seen the home of the predator and worked the script from this premise.
Just my humble opinion which happens to incorporate genial qualities.

The first two brilliant atmospheric installments, and a third that held its own, the alien series took a turn for the worst. This didn't have to be the way even though it is hard to maintain such a high level (compared to the first two) working from the same paradigm.
In essence the rest are easily forgotten and relegated to commercially motivated tripe!
Alas tis time to reboot the franchise with the visual brilliance of the scott brothers.

i know ppl are tired of hearing about it state your opinion of twilight and leave it alone.don't make people feel bad for really loving the movies/books. and disagree if you want , a lot of guys in my school seem to be jealous of the fact that girls are paying more attention to the books than them, so they tend to diss twilight.
and lastly , im a reader and ive never loved a book/ series more tha ive loved the twilight saga. stephanie meyerbrought me into a completely different wrld and i love that about her writing.i loved twilight and i dont know if the sequel will live up to the first. i think that MAYBE guys should stop thinking about ppl calling them and give their true opion

The actors, especially the clown are brilliant. Cast was great and the scenes are breathtaking! I hope they will produce another one even though i guess it cant be as good as this one. Is it true the actor for the clown did suicide?
