    Lucky bastards!

Well, here comes the flood of spoilers, eh?
  • TheDaftPunk · 8 months ago
Wow, glad to hear it. Although if I were one of the viewers, I would have been a little disappointed that there was no pre-showing event or anticipation buildup that I usually participate/have when attending a premiere.
  • Delta Assault · 8 months ago
    Better than Wrath of Khan?

    Ehhh... color me skeptical.
  • Blackstar · 8 months ago
Me too. I want to like the new one. Hell, I want to LOVE the new one. But nothing I have seen so far myself has convinced me. The rest of the reviews are one of two categories. Old fans who have seen the new one but are skeptical, and new fans who have never seen anything of the original Star Trek before who have seen the remake and love it, but have no reference of the original to compare to.

With the success of the Batman and Bond reboots though, I at least want to maintain some semblance of hope JJ could pull it off, and the little snippets that have been released just don't do the whole film justice. So until I can see it for myself, or Nicholas Meyer himself comes out saying "Wow, yeah his film was better"... I still have to give it a 50/50 chance of being awesome or disappointing.

Funny thing though, no one has come out saying the writing has been fantastic, just the action. Can't have everything I guess. =/
  • Delta Assault · 8 months ago
Well... it is being written by the duo behind the Transformers script. Probably not surprising that nobody's saying the writing is fantastic.

I dunno... kinda right there with ya. Right now, I feel the most reassuring element is how all the trailers have pretty much been reusing the same couple of shots, just in slightly different order and with different music. This gives me hope that there's a lot that's being hidden from us, per usual with Abrams, and that it's this that'll form the bulk of the film and blow us all away. Kinda like how TDK held a lot of surprises upon first viewing.

Fantastic!!! Lucky bastards!!! Glad the fans loved it.
  • Brad · 8 months ago
Yeah, but is it good enough to warrant a nauseating sex metaphor from that disturbing man-child Harry Knowles? Only time will tell.
  • Murray · 8 months ago
Jeez is this for real? Luck SOB's!
  • Thomas Evenson · 8 months ago
    I'm so fucking jealous.
  • Palmer · 8 months ago
What's even more surprising is that they didn't sign a NDA!
  • Cole_Abaius · 8 months ago
So I was there, yes friends. They rolled out Wrath of Khan and screen melted it (which they also did when they premiered Return of the King at BNAT 5) and the writers came back on stage with Leonard Nimoy who asked us if we'd rather see the new film instead.

Despite many people yelling KHAN!, they showed us the new flick.

And I sat about five seats down from Nimoy. So that was rad.

Also, the movie is fantastic. So that's also rad.

Man... I got there at 7 to start waiting in line and they said we didn't have a chance at getting in.

    ...so upset.

Personally I am glad that I was at neither premiere, I really want to wait until the time is right to see this film. i.e. When the kids are at school and the cinema is EMPTY! that way I dont have to worry about people talking and throwing popcorn during the most anticipated movie EVER!

    Long Live Trek!

I was at the Wrath Of Khan showing and I can tell you that the new Trek movie was absolutely not shown. A large group of people in the first few rows were openly talking about doing exactly what is going on here. You got tricked slahfilm.
  • Wowbagger · 8 months ago
Obviously, the give away that it was going to be something special was this "Wrath of Kahn" film, which is like a well known Star Trek movie but slightly misspelt.
  • Craigasorusrex · 8 months ago
Gosh I'm so envious of these folks, but no matter, I'm glad the film is receiving an overwhelmingly positive reaction.

I knew we were getting something special but it looks like Abrams delivered an amazing sci-fi film (among the ranks of the original Star Wars) as well.

Even those who weren't expecting much or were slightly skeptical seem to be completely overturned with this movie. Great news!

I'll be there during the midnight showing!

For the ADD addled movie goers of today, the movie is probably a godsend. For the rest of us, Trek fans or no, the film moves way too fast, tries to do way to much, has too much kinetic action (what's with the shaky cam rage anyway?), and gives us one of the most "ho-hum" villains in all of Star Trek. Not a disaster, but far from the best in the series. Anyone who says this is better than "Khan" is a moron.

Troy A. Miller ; well said!
  • Murray · 8 months ago
Hmmm, sounds like a wet blanket to me. But troy is probably right, there is more of a tendency these days for movies to move faster, but then again, thats perhaps just progress. In this day and age we all move faster, work harder and are exposed to more information in the space of a few months than our grandparents were in their whole life...

for better or worse, it sounds like it may be just what films are like these days....

Only positive comments? Come on now. Something smells fishy here. Use your brains for once people.

Interesting . I heard about the millionaire dating site C e l e b m i n g l e . C 0 M a few days ago and joined it. To my surprise, this site not only allows members to place a dating ad, a business opportunity ad is allowed too. I think that is great for us to look for some cooperation opportunities, isn`t it?

Well I bet that Jew-face Abrams is behind some of these BS rumors because he knows its the way to get big numbers at the initial showing when it is released. We know this will suck like all of JJ's "work" He is only able to make this kind of crap because he is part of a degenerate family that is very prevalent in Hollywood.
