I didn't say it wasn't do-able, I said it would make things more difficult. I would have liked to see the mirrored mask, and yes, it would have been possible. But I there ARE practical reasons for changing things. Believe it or not $150 million only covers so many special effects shots. And to compare the rendering involved in Rorschach's moving inkblot to what would be involved in doing accurate reflections of active scenes is ridiculous. The workload would be exponentially greater.

Why didn't they just use the original metal plated face of Cobra Commander from the cartoon? That looks way better than THIS pile of shit. Even the blue hood looks better than this. Both cartoon versions were KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

I don't think you all realize how hard it would be to shoot a scene with a character that had a mirrored face. It would severely limit your angles, or you would have to digitally alter every frame because the camera, crew, lights and equipment would all be reflected in that mask. This isn't great, but it is not as bad as I was expecting considering the art on "The Doctor" card that came out a while back.

Yep...They would need to alter every shot. Just like they did for Venom, Rorschach and a host of other characters from past movies. It's not that hard. We have computers and they're pretty freaking sweet. Not to mention the budget on this movie could handle it. Not a good excuse for this Pile.

Graphically rendering a straight, reflective, slate-gray mask is more expensive than that p.o.s.? I would have spent the money and reaped the rewards from extra ticket sales from the few fanboys not turned off by the lack of quality actors, changing of the standard costumes, or the many other changes I had made to a childhood favorite in hopes of streamlining it more a larger audience.

This has got to be the MOST DUMBEST design I have ever seen! What a stupid way to change one of the Best Vilans of our time! I understand when makeing a great cartoon like G.I Joe into movie, some changes need to be made to make it or fit into reality. But the design team that worked on Cobra Commander just killed him dead! I read somewhere that the reason the original mask was changed was because it resembled a KKK mask??? What??? The story about Cobra Commander having 12 eyes was for the animated movie that came out in 1986. It is the most argued fact about G.I.JOE. This is the problem when a cartoon is made into a live action feature. I hate this version of Cobra Commander. He looks nothing like C.C. at all. I am so pissed because they absolutely screw this whole thing up for me. i will probably get his on DVD due to the fact that I am a hardcore fan and purist. It has Street Fighter written all over it !!!!

The problem I have seen with these figures in the store is that they look cheap. Really cheap. they didn't even use the same molds as the previous g.i. joe figures. They now bend mid torso rather than at the hips and their heads look shrunken... they did the same thing when they tried revamping he-man and its toy line.

If you never watched the old cartoon. It in many ways wasn't to kiddie looking back at it. I mean the first and orginal cartoon movie for G.I.Joe has Cobra a terrorist organization attacking New York in the openning. I do believe something happened in real life to somewhat mirror this.

As for Cobra Commander helmet sucks for the up coming movie. The old hood design was far better. My wife is black and I am Jewish and take no offense to the orginal hood. The thing with Cobra Commander in the orginal cartoon. Terrorism really didn't have a face to be seen. I think in many ways that is far more scary to see a guy that is going to try to kill you, but you never see his real face.

Those making the movie doesn't understand the cartoon or comics at all. I am not looking forward to this movie. I think it will hurt the G.I.Joe license more then anything.

I mean some stuff being taken out isn't a bad thing. I would like Cobra Commander not to be yelling "retreat" loudly and often in the middle of a fight. Also, if any of you were real fans you would know there is a guy who is the Doctor and not Cobra Commander. Cobra Commander isn't even human.

Transformers is fake and made to look real. Why couldn't they do the same for G.I.Joe? It would seem that all the creative thoughts were left out when making G.I.Joe the rise of cobra.
