I am studying where gemma arterton is cureently studying and know her family and friends well. She is excellent at theatre and fiml and i feel she was a fantastic choice.

I agree with Butterfly.Ed westwick was brilliant at portraying Chuck in gossip girl, he was one of the most dramatic and probably difficult charcters to play and he pulled it off.
I'm not going to judge until I see the movie.

Hmmm...I don't want to judge too quickly, but for some reason I get the feeling this may turn out more for the teen demographic. I've been looking forward to a new movie of Wuthering Heights, but I'm not sure how I feel about these two...Arterton is promising, but I'm not sure about the casting of Westwick.

Yeah, Wuthering Heights was the worst book I've ever read. Seriously. It's retarded. There's like six Catherine/Cathys and a wolfman named Heathcliff and it's all this boring bullshit like "oh man i fucking love you" "i love you too but you're an outcast" "i'm gonna be a wolfman and shit" "okay."

That's the fucking book.

That said, I would probably watch it if Arterton was in it. Because she's hot.

Horrible. This is just going to be another horrible version of a fantastic novel. Why are they doing this?? Ed Westick doesn't have the background and acting chops to pull off the depth of Heathcliff. This is will be beyond disappointing, but obviously a tween dream gem.
For shame, Hollywood!

Westwick hasn't had many movie roles, just bit parts I think like in Breaking and Entering, Son of Rambow, and the horrid S. Darko to name a few. I think Gossip Girl is the best the he's been in.

This may be a shock - but Ed Westwick kicks ass. This could be great! Even on the show Gossip Girl (which loves to luxuriate in literary references - one episode did a fantastic simultaneous twist of Edith Wharton and Chekhov's "The Seagull") Ed does extraordinary work. His character is so close to Heathcliff anyway, it should be marvelous. I now cannot wait!
