/Film: Justice League: Who Will Be Cast as Wonder Woman?

  • dtox · 2 months ago
although her last few roles dont provide the intelligence required, maybe we can see a different side of her in the role of wonder woman... Megan fox
  • pitbullero · 3 months ago
megan fox fits for the role of wonder woman she's beautiful brunette with a beautiful blue eyes!
i also like monica belucci but she's over aged though!
so i'm going for megan fox!
  • Derick · 5 months ago
I don't understand why Megan Fox's name hasn't been mentioned to be a front runner for the lead in Wonder Women. She's got the looks and the eyes..... One of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. Put Lynda Carter and Megan Fox together. They'd be a great mother/daughter tandem in the movie.
  • kesley · 6 months ago
i can see megan fox doing an awesome job playing and keeping the idea of a sexy wonder woman. i will b disappointed if its not megan.
  • anacaona · 10 months ago
is that the girl from the transformer movie? if yes then i agree.
  • Annie · 1 year ago
i think megan fox or Lucy lawless..... would be great for the part....jessica beil would have been terrible.
  • WALTERBLOW · 1 month ago
IT SHOUNLD BE LUCY LAWLESS & TRICIA HELFER. NOUT MEGAN FOX SHE SUCKS & IS TERRIBLE AS WONDER WOMAN.
  • jrpgool · 1 year ago
Here's a thought- How about Lucy Lawless from Xena? She's 6 foot amazon size, looks great in black hair and has blue eyes. She would be perfect for that role!! And all the stuff she learned from filming Xena- would come in handy!!!!!
  • mary · 2 years ago
What about Tricia Helfer from BSG? She's got the height and the chops, just needs to dye her hair to brunette. That's my suggestion.
  • WALTERBLOW · 1 month ago
YES YOUR RIGHT TRICIA HELFER IS ANOTHER ONE THAT IS PERFICT FOR THE ROLE OF WONDER WOMAN JUST DYE HER HAIR BRUNETTE SO WHY HAVINT YOU ASK HER TO DO THE ROLE OF WONDER WOMAN YET.
  • darkfenix · 2 years ago
If it was't for the criteria mentioned above, that being mostly the age thing, I would have thought something along the line of Jeri Ryan or Lucy lawless. Both have amazinc physiques for this role, as well as who wouldnt ant to see them as Wonder Woman. Heck, one played almost as big an amazon for 8 seaons on a little show name Xena
  • WALTERBLOW · 1 month ago
YES LUCY LAWLESS DID PLAY AN AMAZON WARRIER PRINCESS ON THE SHOW XENA SO WHY NOUT WONDER WOMAN.
  • Andrew · 2 years ago
    Sarah Michelle Gellar.

This is no better person to play a super hero.
  • barbapapa · 2 years ago
Xena Warrior princess (Lucy Lawless) is a perfect match to an Alex Ross style wonder woman! I wonder why no on has noticed that yet?
  • michelle · 6 months ago
I agree Lawless would be perfect, she has the look.
  • WALTERBLOW · 1 month ago
YES I DO LUCY LAWLESS IS THE RIGHT PERSON TO BE WONDER WOMAN THERE IS NO ONE ELSE FOR THE ROLE BUT HER ITS AN ESE CHOISE IT IS LUCY LAWLESS AND NOBUTY ESLSE. SO WHY HAVENT YOU GOUT HER YET ANWSER ME THAT
  • Super Amanda · 2 years ago
carrie ann moss is beautiful but virtually flat chested and square torsoed.

WONDER WOMAN HAS A WAIST TO HIP RATIO not a washboard square.

Lucy Lawless would be amazing but Hollywood most likely has her tagged with XENA which is a shame. Also out of the Xena suit she's not that busty. wonder Woman has to be buxom.
  • WALTERBLOW · 1 month ago
YES SHE DO)S HAS SEX WAIST TO HIP RATIO BUT SO DO)S LUCY LAWLESS THAT WAIST TO HIP RATIO YOU NEVER LOSE IT & SHE IS BUXOM I KNOW SHE IS.
  • mike · 2 years ago
I am all for Mary Elizabeth Winstead

she has the look (and what a great one it is) and i think can pull of the acting...

Shannyn Sossamon and Christina Milian are in no way good for the part
  • some_dude · 2 years ago
why is no one looking to Kate Beckinsale for this role ... I think she would be perfect. I know she is not tall enough or voluptuous enough but I think both of those things can be made to look "right" in the movie.

As far as height goes though I think they can make anyone look tall enough so it should really come down to who physically looks the part.
  • Deb · 2 years ago
Mostly too young and too short. WW should be a minimum of 25, this ain't teen titans. She also has to be a minimum of 5'9. Heels will add another 2", bringing her up to 5'11, and that is the very shortest any WW can get away with. Ideally she would be around 6'.

Even without Bale or Routh, their replacements will be around the same size. It is the nature of Batman and Superman. Welling, Reynolds, Bale and Routh are well above 6'. It won't look right if all the JL men are towering over WW.
  • dus · 2 years ago
How about the lady that plays the bionic woman on nbc. I know it is going from one super hero to another, but she has the build and look for it. No?
  • tallon · 2 years ago
I'm still bummed about the WW movie w/ Whedon being nixed.

I had my hopes up for a Morena Baccarin WW.
  • Super Amanda · 2 years ago
    SUPER AMANDA!

Myself because I have the height and the large breasts, small waist and hips plus I'm Italian close enough to Greece.

All these other hopefuls are too small breasted and too short.

In all honesty no one can compete with Lynda Carter. Lyda had the best body in the history of Hollywood alongside Raquel Welch

You also don't know your Hollywood ethnic history Peter, Lynda Carter is half Mexican.

You teen pop culture bloggers don't really know your history do you?
  • Daslid · 2 years ago
My vote is for Olivia Munn!!!!!!!
  • Super Amanda · 2 years ago
BTW: You can't fake an hourglass figure on a bunch of female sticks like the above bloggers are naming as their choices. Kate? Mary?

    Oh GOD!!

Take it from a natural DD, 5'10 Amazon none of you know what Wonder Woman's physique is about.

    Ditto Olivia Munn.

    She's got geek cred.
  • some_dude · 2 years ago
Hugh Jack is a solid foot taller than the comic Wolverine so I really doubt that people would have a hard time with a somewhat shorter WW.

... wow you really think Lucy Lawless has the sex appeal for a WW? ... no way
  • WALTERBLOW · 1 month ago
YES I DO SAY LUCY LAWLESS HAS REAL SEX APPEAL. YOU ARE A MORON & A JERK & A ASS HOLE FOR THINKING SHE DON,T HAVE SEX APPEAL.
  • travis · 2 years ago
  • Super Amanda · 2 years ago
Olivia Munn is really pretty and talented but she has the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of wonder Woman's figure! she must be 32A-30-32

Her attempts at becoming the part have been a joke at best you might as well cast the Olsen twins.
  • Wayne Edwards · 2 years ago
Um, I was told Jessica Biel accepted the role from an inside source. But I guess something must've come up if they're still open.
  • donnie · 2 years ago
i was thinking more along the lines of jessica simpson
  • Super Amanda · 2 years ago
Jessica Biel is far too small breasted and thin to ever play Wonder Woman. No trainer can give her what nature didnt.

McPhee is better but not powerful enough, she's Wonder Girl.
  • Sharon du Coudray · 2 years ago
I think Charlize Theron would be great for Wonder Woman, if she would be interested in it.

If it has to be someone from Hollywood then the only actresses worthy and worthwhile are Charlize Theron and Morena Baccarin. Every other suggestion made has been terrible -- and thank God it won't be Jessica Biel (yuck). Best option would be an uber-talented UNKNOWN. Someone reminiscent of Lynda Carter but still their own person (just like Brandon Routh is remiscent of Christopher Reeve but still his own person).

But the whole idea of a Justice League film, especially one being "fast tracked" and featuring the talentless twits of so-called "Young Hollywood", is horrendous. We're likely going to see a superhero version of Ocean's 11 -- zzzzzzzzzz.

Wonder Woman needs to be played by someone with a brain and LOTS of charisma. She is a born leader and fearsome warrior (read the comic book!). Hopefully, a stand-alone Wonder Woman film, preferably modelled on George Perez's late-1980s reboot of the comic, will eventually happen (if done by a visionary director it could be a success!) and not be a spin-off from JL. But I won't hold my breath...
  • The Jack · 2 years ago
The casting people are idiots if they go with a short actress. If they cannot find a hot 6'3" or better actress they should find another job because they do not understand the character.
  • HappyEvilDude · 2 years ago
I have said it before and shall say it again: Mandy Moore as Wonder Woman (she's tall, has name-recognition, the movie will serve to expand her role diversity, she will bring to the movie an audience which wouldn't have initially gone to see it).

They could also audition Joss Stone (not an actress, but she's tall, has a fondness for accents, so why not try her out? she too would bring in a whole new audience).

And though it sucks they're not getting Bale & Routh how about this:

-I'm still hoping for David Boreanaz as Batman (it'd be good he'd be a bit older).
-Tom Welling as Superman (do you really want three actors playing Superman at the SAME time?)
-Justin Hartley as Aquaman (hey he already did it once)
-Chad Michael Murray as The Flash
-Gaius Charles as The Green Lantern
-the voice of James Earl Jones as The Martian Manhunter

You are all missing the point. All of the women mentioned are woefully inadequate.
    .
Anybody can act with a few lessons. The important thing is that they look like the role.
    .
Personally, I would inquire with the Russian Women's Olympic Volleyball team to see if any are interested.

    how about estella warren?
  • goldfarb · 2 years ago
    estella warren?
    jebus...are you kidding?...

there are tow things that MUST be present in the actor playing Wonder Woman
    1) she has to look the part
it's not enough to cast some hot chick with name recognition (alba, biel etc), wonder woman has a physicality that, like it or not, is part of what defines her character...if one of the Olsen twins was the finest actor of her generation, a true chameleon, able to inhabit any role...she still wouldn't be right for wonder woman.
    2) a good actor
the currrent wonder woman is a leader, a warrior...not an OC bit player.

I have great hopes for this film...but just hope...no good expectations at all...

I'm 6'4 and a half and I would love to get a chance to play one of the only roles that was made for a tall woman!!!!!

Allie, take a couple acting classes and read for the part. Acting is easy, overrated and actors get the most undue adulation of any profession.
  • Allie · 2 years ago
Well as far as I know they aren't holding open casting calls, but if they were I would be first in line to audition, and unfortunately I don't have the money to afford an agent, but if I hear anything about open casting calls for it I'm going to go for it!

Adding her name to a list that includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Teresa Palmer and Christina Milian, actress Shannyn Sossamon (A Knight's Tale, One Missed Call) has auditioned for director George Miller for the upcoming film Justice League of America, according to Cinematical.

They confirm that Sossamon did audition for the Amazon Princess and she apparently blew away the writing team of Kieran and Michele Mulroney and has heard back from them since. The Mulroneys were so taken with her that they championed her to director Miller, even going so far as to state that they had envisioned Sossamon in the Amazonian role all along. However, according to the report, Miller was less enthusiastic about her audition.

The audition apparently took place sometime prior to the recent open casting call, which still gives Sossamon a chance at the role, even with Miller's initial reluctance.

Except for the age, Rena Sofer (Nathan's wife on Heroes, also in 24) would be a good choice. She looks a lot like Lynda Carter.

  • Jack · 2 years ago
Nadia Bjorlin was my choice from the start. But it appears that they are not looking at her. Mary Elizabeth Winstead looks very much the part, and I belive that she is what the want. She does look a lot like Lynda Carter. Megan Fox has a great look for Wonder Woman, and they haven't looked at her either. It seems strange that all they could come up with is three actress. I wish that they would have given others a chance too reed for the part. Different age groups instead of early 20 year olds.

Did you see the latest episode of "Bones" on FOX. This past Tuesday during the Halloween episode Emily Deschannel dressed up as Wonder Woman. Let's go over the criteria for being Wonder Woman:

    1. The girl must be tall ( Emily is 5'9" or 5'10"...once you add heels she is over 6' tall..pretty close to the modern day Wonder Woman at 6'3")
    2. The girl must be white (Emily is indeed that)
    3. The girl must be a dark-haired, crystal-eyed beauty(she is definitely that...people are mentioning girls who are short and have blonde hair...why choose a blonde haired actress and then die her hair or make her wear a wig when you have people like Emily who are natural)
    4. The girl must be have a nice body(few actresses beat the nice natural breasts, smooth long legs, and world class back side that Emily has)
    5. The girl must have pronounced facial features.
    6. The girl must have high intelligence(definitely Emily...her role in Bones demonstrates this)
    7. The girl must be young but not too young(Emily is 29...this is a perfect age for now and for sequels in the near future...next 10 years)
    8. The girl must be good at action sequences and fighting scenes(Emily is seems to be extremely talented when it comes to this....very little training would be required to get her in proper shape)
    9. The girl must be an excellent actress.(She is that)

After I saw her in costume on Tuesday...Emily Deschannel is the ONE!!!
  • cowboy · 2 years ago
Emily Deschanel has an angular, bony, Skeletor-like face. The person who plays Wonder Woman needs to look more wholesome and corn-fed.

Deschanel's face is almost an optical illusion in that she looks more bizarre-looking the further the camera pans back.

Her youth, hair color, sparkling eyes, and nice body don't make up for the fact that her facebones are arranged like an Escher painting.

The Deschanel proponent above even acknowledges her "pronounced facial features".

C'mon. We need a superhero face not a cartoon face.

KATE BECKINSALE is perfect for wonder woman...

    please, please consider her..

Kate might not have the physique that WW possesses, THOUGH if you look closely her face is the closest resemblance of Diana of Themyscira.

In addition, she is ALREADY very familiar with fight scenes given her previous stints in VAN HELSING as well as UNDERWORLD..

those 2 criterias oughta be enough to compensate for the height she lacks. (btw, height can be edited much like Frodo of LOTR)
  • M · 2 years ago
    http://artfiles.art.com/images/-/Lynda-Carter-P....

Have a look at the picture above. This is the 5'9" Lynda Carter in 1976(age 25). I'm sure everyone would agree she was the "perfect" Wonder Woman. Check the heels.
This puts her at close to 6', very close to the comic book girl who is 6'3". Also, the hair, eyes, face and definitely body(with those nice boobs and luscious long legs) are all as Wonder Women is described in the comics.

    http://destinysgarden.blogspot.com/2007/10/emil....

    http://www.watchingbones.com/category/emily-des...

Now have a look at the two web sites above(in the second site play the video to see her in Wonder Woman dress). This is Emily Deschannel in 2007 dressed up as Wonder Woman in her show "Bones". She is 5'9", with heels around 6'. Compare the two actresses in their "get-ups", especially when they smile. Emily is a Lynda Carter look alike. These other actresses are nice choices(including Jaime Murray who is absolutely smoking hot), but they don't have the height, the looks and the fighting ability that Emily has. Emily you should "throw your hat in" for this role.
  • angel · 2 years ago
I love how everyone who enthusiasts that Lynda Carter was "perfect for the role" of WW while they simultaneously complain that WW needs to be statuesque, intimidating, curvy and voluptuous, have some muscle tone, etc. when Lynda Carter possessed none of those things LOL.

Sorry, Lynda isn't the prototype for WW. Not IMO anyway. No offense to her.

    some_dude
WW is not about "sex appeal". That figures someone would say that.

They have now officially cast Megan Gale. An Australian supermodel. She's 5'10 which in my book is still not tall enough. I'm disappointed.
  • angel · 2 years ago
Don't be. That is not the official casting. How many 'official casting' announcements from non legit sources have we gotten so far?

When the real cast list comes, we'll know ;)
  • bratty_natalie · 2 years ago
Personally, my vote goes first to Zoe Saldana. She is tall enough for the part, and has more than enough cup-size to appease the director and producer! Also, she has enough "nasty rebel-girl" attitude to be a tough-as-nails superhero and still be able to rock the Wonder Woman suit as one hot WW!! Yeah!:-P
Also, I think that Angelina Jolie would do nicely for the role, but too many people out there have already given her a thumbs-up for WW, because she would be Warner Bro's "safe choice." She's got the bod, the breasts, the tall girl thang goin' on, and is excellent as an action-hero. But I just can't see people NOT YAWNING through the film if she took the WW role.
Honestly, I think an unknown like Zoe Saldana would do awesome, and people would be interested enough to go see it, BECAUSE she IS a relatively unknown actress.
Zoe Saldana's got the best chopps for the part if you ask me! She starred in (2000's) Center Stage, and as Ashton Kutcher's lovely fiancee-in-hiding in Guess Who, with Bernie Mac.
But come on, seriously! Even though we ALL KNOW that a woman born in the Amazon of Amazonian bloodlines would be medium to dark-skinned, still, America wants some "suburban white chick" who can play tough to be our countries' Wonder Woman.

Probably has a lot to do with Wonder Woman's historical creation. She - along with Superman - was created and over-publicized in WWII to boost the morale of American citizens.
It was kind of a "Uncle Sam Wants You!" ploy from the U.S. government to preserve our imperialistic, superimposed sense patriotic commeraderie.
And let's face it boys & girls...1940's middle-America was not, NOT going to let a black woman represent our nation!

So, while there is little real chance of Saldana getting the part, she would be not only the best as far as looks, body type they're going for, and acting range, I still wanted to put my two piddly cents in:)

Somebody needs to send the casting director a picture of Nadia Bjorlin if they want to do Wonder Woman justice!!! Wonder Woman is NOT just an average looking woman, like MOST of the rumored canidates I've seen, she HAS to be a tough beautifull babe that can fill out the costume properly and NOT over-exposed in to many other roles. Use Lynda Carter and the new Wonder Woman comics as a referance and you will see that Nadia Bjorlin is a great choice.
  • kal545 · 1 year ago
Although I don't think she's nearly tall enough the closest comic book choice would have to be Nadia Bjorlin. She's got the physical appearance of WW down pat just look at a side by side and see what I mean. However, I don't think she'll be able to capture WW's strength of presence on the big screen. With good writing and a step up as far acting goes on Nadia's part, I think she could pull it off nicely. Remember WW's gotta have a look that displays irresistable beauty (almost trans-like), strength, fiercness, and a quite gentleness all at the same time. It's damn near impossible to get someone with a look that embodies all those qualities so I hope they dont just get some 18 year old teeny bopper to play the role. After all, this really aint the teen titans.
  • Chuck · 1 year ago
Wonder Woman is based on Greek Mythology, so should be Greek looking in appearence, if they want a black woman in the movie why not include the Vixen who in the comics was black. If a black man in it can have Steel who in the comics was black they should try to make the movie appeal to the fans of the comics. I'm still trying to relate a white Alicia in the Comics to a black one in Fantastic Four movie, and a White blonde hair Pete Ross to a black one on Smallville. Why didn't they just come out with a new character with a different name. How was Harvey Dent white in Batman comics but black in Batman movie. Why didn't they just give the character a different name. Come on if they come out with a black Panther or Luke Cage movie, don't you want them to be black as they were in the comics. The characters should resemble the role they are playing. Sarah michelle Giler is to short to play Wonder Woman, maybe she could be Supergirl.
  • Chuck · 1 year ago
Jessica Simpson as wonder woman? No way, she is too short, to young, if she ever learned how to act maybe she could be Supergirl.
  • Chuck · 1 year ago
Denise Lewis isn't an actress as far as I know but is an Olympic Gold medal winner in the 2004 Hepthathon, and might make a great Vixen if they decided to have her in the movie.
  • Chuck · 1 year ago
For Role of Superman. Brandon Routh though not a bad actor is to skinny for Superman, they could have either Tom Welling, Dean Cain or the Actor from Superboy do it if he is Muscular enough now.

Could keep Green Arrow, Cyborg, and Aquaman from Smallville series. If Cyborg in it drop Steel as don't need two characters in it who are almost alike. If spin off of Smallville just keep Tom wellings as Superman, don't even have to have him wear the costume as this is new version of Superman. If Kara in it just keep her from Smallville series also. Can keep Christian Bale of Batman begins as Batman. By the time this comes out maybe that Impulse guy will be old enough to be the Flash, otherwise just have him as Impulse.

I would love to see Sophia Bush from one tree hill get the job. she could totally pull off wonder woman. I have a three year old little boy who watches justice league every day, and usually while he is in one room watching that I am in the other room watching one tree hill and he has asked me if she was wonder woman before. I know he's only 3 but he knows is justice league stuff.

Plus she's an amazing actress and she could fit the profile.

i would think Michelle Ryan (Bionic Woman), as mentioned earlier would be a fine choice. she's 5-7 which is a decent height, add the heels, and she would be perfect.

Check out an actress/model Emma Ledden. I think she has that innocent look that Lynda Carter has and she has the height, colouring face and figure.
  • johnnywonbok · 1 year ago
Tera Patrick may not as greatest an actress as other women mentioned, however, she does fit the size (5' 9") they're looking for, and she would bring some what of a semi-exotic look to the role. Curvaceous? You betcha! She's a little out of the age range, she's 31.

A perfect choice for this role.

ABSOLUTELY ONLY ONE REASONABLE CHOICE-ANGELINA JOLIE. SHE'S GOT THE HAIR, EYES, LARGE BREASTS, HEIGHT, AND IS TAN LIKE THE REAL WONDER WOMAN OF HISTORICAL TIMES. SHE'S STILL YOUNG AND IS USED TO ACTION TYPE MOVIES-AS SOON AS SHE HAS HER TWINS, THIS IS THE WOMAN FOR THE JOB!! SHE'S ACTUALLY LMORE HISTORICALLY ACCURATE THAN LYNDA CARTER. LYNDA CARTER HAS A SLIGHTLY ENGLISH/IRISH LOOK TO HER THAT ISN'T CORRECT. WONDER WOMAN WAS A GREEKISH AMAZON-ANGELIA JOLIE LOOKS BETTER AND CLOSER TO THAT INTERPRETATION WITHOUT THE IRISH LOOK TO HERAND HER BIG GREEN EYES THAT GO UP ARE VERY EXPRESSIVE AND INTENSE--SHE HAS THE SAME SKINNY LONG ARMS AS LYNDA CARTER AND GOOD BROAD SHOULDERS--HER FACE BEATS LYNDA CARTER BY MILES ANYWAY! I HOPE HOLLYWOOD USES THEIR HEADS-SHE'S THE ONLY DECENT LOOKING FACE OUT THERE IN HOLLYWOOD LEFT.

Some of the opinions are biased because folks like certain actresses. But, Catherine Bell (JAG/Army Wives) would be a smarter choice. She fits the WW bill perfectly. At the least, consider Jennifer Love Hewitt.....curvy, young, and accomplished.

You know who would make a good Wonder Woman, she's definitely got the height. Is KATE HOLMES.. She'd be perfect for the part..
  • Cindy · 1 year ago
Angelina Jolie - don't know if she is tall enough, but she certainly has the figure and was great as Lara Croft. She's also very pretty. Nothing like Linda Carter but it would work. There is no one other than Linda Carter that will ever be Wonder Woman to me.

I think Katherine Mc Phee from American Idol Is the spitting Image of a young Linda Carter and Is my top choice to be given a serious shot at taking on the role.face It her singing career has not taken off!She should try her hand at acting

Kate Beckinsale - would be a awesome Wonder Woman! -....shes got the figure and she has the attitude - ...she was good in both underworld and Van helsing! - ... I think she would be Very good as wonder woman! -

I think that Angelina Jolie should play Wonder Woman she has the look ,the body and the attitude that Wonder Woman had and i think she could probably get more viewers too watch the movie because most men think she is so sexy and most women think she georgeous.

    KATIE HOLMES

I have ALWAYS thought that if anyone was ever cast in the role of WONDER WOMAN it should be Katie Holmes.

Every little girl loved wonder woman and wanted to be her. She was so pure and beautiful and she looked so wholesome and honest. KATIE HOLMES looks ALOT like her. She even SMILES like her with her EYES.

No one would be better for this role than Katie Holmes.

Its just me but I think they should do a search for wonder WW out of the unknown women in the world...make it a world wide search...like they did for scarlet....and harry potter. we need a fresh face. and with all the talent in hollywood they can teach anyone how to act.....but WW had that special way of just looking at you and you knew you better be good..... wanted to be good.

I think that would be the best call.
Hollywood has just gotten too lazy.

My first thought was Leelee Sobieski. She played a great warrior princess as Joan of Arc a few years ago. She is 5' 10", is 25 years old, and definitely has the right look. She is blond but has crystal blue eyes, and in this case I don't think being blond is a disadvantage.

Out of the speculative actresses tossed up so far, I really like the idea of Kate Beckinsale...she does excellently in buttkicker roles (Underworld, Van Helsing), is smoking hot, and is a little underused in Hollywood these days.

I loathe the idea of Angelina Jolie playing the part...EVERY damn movie has her in it these days, and as far as female action heroines go, she should just be happy she became the face of Lara Croft. As beautiful as she is, I'm sick of looking at her.

    Kate Beckinsale ftw.
  • Courtney · 1 year ago
Liv Tyler! Hello! She's very tall, like 6'! She's incredibly beautiful, drop dead! A great actress! She has American Indian blood, which gives her a unique look, not to mention the physique. She's also just gone through a divorce and had a baby recently, so she could spend some time getting buff. She's never played a super hero, which is a plus, she's a household name, and most importantly, she's very TALL. I can't agree more with most commentors; If you're not going to cast a Very tall actress to play an Amazon woman, then Please Don't Do the Movie! As a tall woman, 5'9" tall, I find it sickening that we can't get any tall actresses to play tall roles. Stop settling with short, adolescent looking, bad actresses for key feminine roles. Women do not need to be short, tiny framed things to play a movie role!! We're not doing any justice to women! Example of a fantastic, tall, bigger woman - great actress, Jennifer Hudson! Stop looking for just "pretty faces" and start looking for great actresses, drop dead gorgeous or not. We're tired of 1-liner actors with bad lines and predictable plots. What the hell happened to movies?
If you're not going to pick a great actress, known, who's truly tall (Over 6 feet tall), then pick an Unknown actress who's over 6' and a great actor! Do some Justice to the most important Female, SuperHero, Justice Figure In American History! Anything less will set women back to the 1950's. We've come so far! Don't cop-out.

The knockout who played the Vulcan on Enerprize: Jolene Blalock. Killer looks plus she can act and smart also. Not another Hollywood bibo. Check her out.
  • GIjoe28 · 1 year ago
My pick is Supermodel Adriana lima I would have went with Jessica alba but shes already been in a superhero movie. And just a reminder for all the people that say that a darker skinned female cant be WW,...hello WW was from the Amazon, and if my memory is still intact then the Amazon is in Brazil. I think Christina milian could pull it off because she looks brazilian. anyone thats ever been knows what im talking about. Hell I would love to see Roseyln sanchez or Eva mendez as WW...but i know thats not possible because hollywood is predjudiced.
  • joe · 1 year ago
There are many women i can think of that would be perfect for the part looks wise. The problem is finding a woman who can act as well as look the part. I personally think Sable would be great if she could act. Realistically however I think Jennifer Love Hewitt would get my vote.
  • WWWD · 1 year ago
This is why the WW movie was tanked people........who will cast the role as WW....I have been a fan for many years. Actually I think they should hold open casting and pick an unknown it worked for Superman returns. Who is that guy.....? But it worked.

Who ever they choose has some big red boots to fill and she has to beable to execute that spin with finesse... I just hope the directors/casting dont fudge it up! And hopefully TPTB will make due with all of the wonderful costume changes that happend on the show.
  • Vadriel · 1 year ago
I thought of Liv Tyler myself, but she doesn't seem to have the right natural attitude to me...

And let's not forget, a gorgeous brunette does not a Wonder Woman make...I love Christina Milian to pieces, Adriana Lima is sex appeal incarnate, and Eva Mendes and Roselyn Sanchez are both gorgeous women...but they just don't really mesh with the role.

In all honesty, an unknown would do the best for this...although it's probably not going to happen with such a bigbudget movie...they'll want star appeal.

And please for the love of all that is holy, keep Tom Welling far from this Superman...that weenie has no business wearing red and blue...and can you imagine him in cape/tights? How bout no. If Lex Luthor has any part in the movie (I have no idea, don't know much of Justice League lore), you can keep the Smallville actor (guy was BORN to play Lex Luthor), but for crying out loud...NO TOM WELLING.
  • sweet pea · 1 year ago
i'd say LIV TYLER.... looks & height, whatelse do we need?
  • Vadriel · 1 year ago
Another issue with a lot of these named actresses...none of them have quite the right face. Wonder Woman needs to be a WOMAN, not a girl. Too many of the named actresses have overly young appearances...we don't want a granny, but we want an adult woman here.

I just thought of a pretty nice candidate I could see working out...Jodi Lyn O'Keefe. She's a knockout, has a strong, adult appearance, and can dominate a room. Only problem is, she's indeed such a strong and dominating figure, she usually is better served towards antagonistic roles, such as the recent seasons of Prison Break in which she just owns the role.

I'm sorry people but the ONLY person that should even be considered for the role of wonder woman is Catherine Zeta Jones.

She's tall, beautiful, and she has the PERFECT amazon look
  • Vadriel · 1 year ago
Catherine Zeta Jones is totally the idea of a strong, attractive woman that I'm thinking of, but I'm not sure I see her personally. She's too used, imo...she's been in so much, she's just kinda fizzled for me. Stunning woman, and could probably do the part well...but I dunno. Just doesn't seem quite right. I think we need someone less "in the spotlight."

IS THE CASTING DONE AND OVER WITH??? because i hope this comment would make it to the producers....of those that auditioned, none is perfect for the role. i was thinking of Michelle Ryan, the english actress who played BIONIC WOMAN?--- i think this would be a great opportunity for her to try a shot at Hollywood one more time (though i'm not quite sure what's the latest with her) --- she's almost 5'8" but definitely looks voluptuous (she appears to be)as the marvel comics' sketched character. even if she has little martial arts background --- that can be worked out, right? How about JENNIFER GARNER? Is she still active in the movies? There's not going to be a problem with her fighting & acting skills if she lands the role....No, No, ANGELINA JOLIE & KATE BECKINSALE are gorgeous yet definitely slim for the character --- but i agree with the suggestion of considering SARAH LANCASTER - she has the same appeal and built as Linda Carter and her background in dancing would perhaps make her easier to train in martial arts, etc... WHAT D'YA SAY FOLKS?

I think there were a lot of good choices stated and a whole lot of bad ones. When doing movies as big as this one is destined to be you have to get it right. The die hard fans won't let you live it down if you don't like with X-Men (Rogue's character "nuff said" too young, no hips, and no sex appeal, it was NOT Rogue.) They mess up all the time in casting (I hope there reading this for hints) lol Go with some one you has that natural royalty about them (WW was a princess) and a take no mess attitude) Use the lasso only once in the movie (for nostalgic purposes only) and most Important make it believable (Like TRANSFORMERS GREATNESS!!!) not cartoony (like SPEED RACER GRABAGE)
    My Pick
Kristanna Loken - Terminator 3 she was the X www.KristannaLoken.net
5’10 Tall, with hips, bust size, long legs, sex appeal and she kicks major @ss

    Greetings:
I was a big fan of the old TV show Wonder Woman, and being young it was part the beauty of Linda and the crime fighting scenes of that era. We must keep in mind that WW is an Amozon Queen and was not only voluptuous but tall in a womanly kiind of way which inhanced her beauty as well as being a full blooded brunett.
I think that someone like Thiesen ( Baywatch, 90210 ) would be good because she has the body, hair and look of a WW. Other than that I would look in the Fitness, female bobybuilding scene for that woman with the right combination of feminine muscles, beauty and body with the flowing black hair...

Not these waif of a women that cant even hold their breakfast down due to worrying about being thin - give it some thought - and please don't rush the movie like you did with X-Men, if we can wait 10 plus years for an Indiana Jones sequel we'll definitely wait a year or two more for the Lovliness of Wonder Woman...
  • Lupe · 1 year ago
I agree with some of you, some of the candidates are stick women, no breast, no waist, and as for their legs, their calfs are the same size as their thighs, but sad to say that seems to be the trend :(

On the other hand there are a lot of beautiful, voluptuous women out there, 6 ft. +, have an unknown competition. Ethniticity not all that important, since we're so mixed anyway, for example, Prof. Xavier, from X-man, an Englishman??? No don't tell me that Patrick Stewart isn't mixed?? I think he's great, but when you mix an Australian, Jackman, an Englishman, etc. as U.S. comic book icons? Why not a Peruvian WW, or dare I say it, actual GreeK, anywho good luck to all!!

  • Mike · 1 year ago
That's so disappointing. There are so many tall, beautiful, athletic women over 6' tall who could easily fit the bill here. If this is the way they're casting their lack of imagination is going to compromise the story. Wonder Woman is supposed to represent strength, vitality and power as well as femininity. If she's smaller than the boys the character becomes just another cute chick (albeit with superpowers). Linda Carter herself is half Mexican so this ethnicity argument is bogus too. Here's a name that could be an interesting choice...

Ana Ivanovic (if she could fit in into her schedule)

Every version of WW I have ever seen, whether in TV series or cartoon, has had three similarities: Both are 6' 3", both are voluptuous, and both are BRUNETTE!!! Why are these idiots auditioning SHORT, SKINNY BLONDES???
WW was always 6' 3", no matter how you quibble, so find a sexy brunette at that height and put her into the costume. She also must have piercing blue eyes. Stop all the crap, and do it right!!!

  • taylordon2008 · 1 year ago
I believe it should be Angelina Jolie she is just as beautiful and stunning as Linda Carter was and still is when she played Wonder Woman. The original Wonder Woman had curves and a mysterious sex appeal about her, these younger actress won't give the roll the flavor it needs. The younger actress are mostly trashy, too skinny and all hair please don't for get that she was NOT A BLONDE. They shouldn't make it a justice league movie it will be to much like fantastic 4 it just should be Wonder Woman all by herself with the help of a few friends. Angelina makes a great action hero, look at tomb raider and beowolf and any other movie she played in!
  • jinfo · 1 year ago
Wonder Woman is an Amazon, which was a Greek mythological construct -- NOT from the Amazon (in South America). Amazons were female warriors. Not that it wouldn't be nice to see a worthy woman of color play the role, but if you want true authenticity, I guess WW should be played by an actress with substantial European heritage.

And, for the love of Hera, NOT KATIE HOLMES. We need a tall (real tall, no less than 5'9"), curvaceous, beautiful, buff (if possible) brunette actress (i.e. she has to be able to ACT and not just be eye candy). It's a tough one to fill, but a lot of the options here are good.

Currently, I'm voting for Catherine Bell.
  • Cinna · 1 year ago
    taylordon...

How are you calling the other people auditioning "trashy" and too "skinny" and leaving Angelina out of that pile...ummm, she did make out with her own brother!!!! And talk to Laura Dern and Jennifer Aniston about their opinions of her taking their men...If that ain't trash, I don't know what is...and her veins are bulging out of her arms, she is so skinny...I seriously doubt she would look hot as Wonder Woman. And let's not forget, the thing she played in Beowulf was computer animated...they helped her out in the curves department quite a bit. Wonder Woman should be someone children can look up to. Angelina doesn't fit that bill.

    jinfo...

If it can't be my recommendation of Nadia Bjorlin (look her up, trust me) then I am going with your Catherine Bell :)

I think Jaimie Alexander, who plays Jessie XX on Kyle XY would make a great Wonder Woman. She has the look, is familiar with playing a super-powered woman, and is familiar with stunt work. She's also a great actress and she's the perfect age to do it.

I still believe that Megan Gale should portray Wonder Woman, if notin the JL film, then at least in the WW movie. She's just too good achoice to throw away now that the JL film is on hold…yet again.sigh… Lynda Carter should most definitely portray her mother,Hippolyta. And developing the characters and relationships onParadise Island (i.e., the Queen, Artemis, Donna Troy, etc.,) andGreek mythology (i.e., Ares, Circe, Aphrodite, etc.,) along with thecharacters from Man's World (i.e., Steve Trevor, Etta Candy and theWoo-Woo Girls, the Cheetah, etc.,) would prove awesome for viewers! And provide her with her iconic accoutrements (i.e., tiara that shealso uses as a boomerang and video phone; earrings that can translateany spoken language; bracelets that deflect objects and can create aforce field around her) as well as her other magical super powers(i.e., mimic anyone's voice; the transformation twirl; and theability to see the good in everyone). And let's not forget to includeher invisible jet/Wonderdome cast of characters. As for a No-No List, how about the following Don’ts as well:1. Don't make her a teenager; make her 2000+ years old. It makes fora richer background and back-story.2. Don't make her fly. She's not Superman. That's what her cool andunique invisible jet is for. 3. Don't take away her iconic costume. She wears the American flagand that's part of her unique appeal.4. Don't make her overtly sexy/sexual.5. Don't make her too mannish/butch. Allow her to have some curves, just not gratuitous jiggle.6. Don't cast well-known actors other than Lynda Carter (for obviousreasons). Allow views the chance to get to know the character as thecharacter and not some actor AS the character. Christopher Reeve andLynda Carter are great examples of this!7. Don't exclude villains from her comics. There are tons of greatones to use (e.g., Circe, Silver Swan, Cheetah, Dr. Poison, Ares, Dr.Psycho, etc.). 8. Don't forget to include her secret identity. The one thing thatmost EVERYONE who talks about WW comments on is that FAMOUS LyndaCarter twirl. There's lots of fun and excitement seeing how she'll beable to keep her secret in order to protect the ones she loves inMan's World as well as to be undercover.9. Don't overlook the invisible jet/Wonderdome. Lots of creativepossibilities and uniquely rich characters to draw upon. 10. Don't get rid of her high heels. They're silly in some ways, butshe IS a comic book character, and if you look at most comic bookcharacters, they're costumes really don't translate into the realworld. But that's part of the fantasy and appeal. It's not supposedto be real world.

The best suggestions I have read so far, and I have read them all, narrow the choices down to a Final Two:

    1.) Jessica Biel
    or
    2.) Charlize Theron

The only issue with Charlize Theron would be she might seem like "Aeon Flux" with longer hair in a patriotic swimsuit.

I don't know if she meets the height requirement, but I suggest for Joss Stone. She's young, tall, and has a great body. But I'm not sure about her acting. She had a special appearance in a movie,*i think it's eragon I'm not sure* her scene was so short she's with this magic-witch-like costume.

Jessica simpson would be a great wonder woman,if your going to throw a little commedic touch into the movie. She has the right figure.I agree that the lady chosen to play this part must be alittle taller and a bit more endowed than your average holly wood actress.Another good choice could be Catherine bell from Jag.She has a Mediterainain look about her and she definatly has the figure.Pluss the role has to be a little serious so as not to make the movie a running boob joke.If you want to look out side the box for a less traditional Wonder Woman what about J Anniston.she can pull off the wholesomeness of Wonder Woman.Rember WW is not always in costume so I believe that any of these three women can pull off this two sided role.

Wonder woman is an AMAZON.A warrior.A princess. She isn't cutesy like Buffy. No woman below 59' should be cast!!!Like Lynda Carter they should be statuesque, beautiful(cause WW is supposed to be jaw droppingly so...she is a goddess come to earth)She should also be able to convery a regal, powerful aura......Catherine Zeta Jones and Monica Bellluci are the two women who have the look and could have done this if they were not so mature.

I really don't think Biel,or Fox....or any of these women who are know for....well...cliched hotgirl types would really be the ones to carry such an iconic role off.Bankable does not always give monetary returns.Look at halle berry in Catwoman. She was bankable but that was so poorly cast and scripted. And looking good in a swimsuit should really be secondary.

Take a note out of Nolan and Favreau.....look for a capable actree with charisma and who can fit the mould of WW.

Of all the young actresses.Liv Tyler isn't bad.She is at least beautiful and amazon-like and can emote.

Let's hope if they make this a decent director will take charge and not let studio execs who feel they know it all dictate to them on who they should use.Nothing is worse when execs feel just because internet users rave over their fave swimsuit bods that this ought to be the benchmark for WW.

WW had a 65 year old history and should be treated with respect.Cause she was created as to inspire not titilate.

you need to see this girl who bartends at kc prime in hamilton nj
her name is megan and she would be the perfect wonderwoman
if you look at her that is the first thing that would pop in your head

anyone who is going to cast this movie NEEDS to see her before they make the choice

movie execs you would be crazy to pass her up
i mean really come in for dinner and see her

This cracks me up! I wanted a Wonder Woman movie back in 2002.
The cast (back then) I thought would be the best was Lucy Lawless as Diana and (Brad Pitt before he cheated) as Steve. And my robot, lets just say, robo would be sophisicatedly created with only the best.

    OMG
Get over it already. Brad and Angelina found love together. He didn't cheat, so stop being such a whining little bitch. You make women look weak, fragile, and desperate.

i honestly think that Megan Fox should play Wonder Woman! she has the look, right age, and right height. i mean, they had 2 be stupid not to put her in.

i think Megan Fox is a good idea. she's lyk awesome and hott. i mean, can't u imagine her in that suiit? u would hav 2 b blind if u cant c her in the suit!

mandy Moore...no two ways about it!
She has the perfect look...and there is a certain masculine (But feminine) aspect to the role that she would pull off nicely.
She has the acting CV and I would LOVE to see her in something 'blockbusty'.
It's either this or she replaces Kirsten Dunst as Mary jane...and I'd much prefer this.
  • Cinna · 1 year ago
Melissa ~ I find it interesting that you KNOW that Brad doesn't cheat on Angelina. Are you their personal friend? Well, even personal friends don't know everything about another person. Based on this, I am going to assume that you must be either a member of the paparazzi or a stalker.

And about everyone suggesting Megan Fox as Wonder Woman ~ I don't see it. Megan Fox reminds me too much of an Angelina impersonator and I sure couldn't see Angelina in such a womanly and heroic role.

Angelina has two roles that she always plays ~ she is either a femme fatale/superhero type in black (Mr and Mrs Smith, Tomb Raider, Wanted, Beowulf, Sky Captain, possibly the upcoming Cat Woman) or she is a troubled/druggie/thrill seeker/prostitute type (Gone in 60 Seconds, Girl Interrupted, Gia). Megan Fox seems to be cut from the same mold, in my opinion.

I don't feel this translates into Wonder Woman.
  • Melissa · 1 year ago
    Ginna,

I find it interesting that you KNOW that Brad and Angelina did have sexual relations before he dumped Jennifer Aniston. Were you there watching? That sounds like a sick stalker to me-kind of like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction, but really sick.

You really give women a bad name. From your most recent post, it seems you have serious issues with Angelina Jolie. The bottom line is: Angelina Jolie is a Superstar and an Oscar winning actress. You seem quite jealous, really. It's is laugh-out-loud ridiculous.

P.S. I saw your picture on MySpace, and now I can see why you would be jealous of someone so beautiful and successful.
  • Cinna · 1 year ago
    Melissa,

This is really almost too laughable to even reply to.

For one thing, I didn't say that I knew that he cheated on Jennifer or that he didn't. I said...

"Melissa ~ I find it interesting that you KNOW that Brad doesn’t cheat on Angelina."

I really have no idea one way or the other. Nor, I am quite certain, do you. It is really none of our business, but since YOU spoke as if you had first hand knowledge, I felt you should let the group know HOW you had that knowledge. I said nothing that sounded the least bit stalkery as far as relating to me, as I am sure people reading our posts back and forth can decide for themselves. I don't claim to know anything about their personal lives, I just claim that you don't. Don't be so angry when someone calls your bluff. At any rate, I seriously doubt they have hired you as their spokesperson. But, just in case they have, and you do know them personally and have followed them around 24/7 for about 10 years, I apologize in advance.

I have nothing personally against Angelina Jolie. How she leads her life is HER business, not mine (that also means not YOURS). I said that I felt she didn't fit the Wonder Woman roll. I stated my reasons. This is America, right? You know, where there is freedom of speech. I didn't slander, I just gave "my opinion," as I stated in my post. You, however, state your opinions as if they are fact with no corroberating, evidence and then resort to personal attacks and defemation when someone asks for further substantiation. That is the difference between you and I.

Also, about the personal attacks on my appearance. Some will think I look good, some won't. Just like with Angelina and you, I would presume. Ah, such is life.

Regardless, at least I am not too afraid to post my pictures.

Oh, and my name is Cinna, not Ginna. Perhaps you should read posts a little closer next time.
  • Cinna · 1 year ago
p.s. As I stated before, I don't know if Brad cheated on Jennifer, nor do I know if he cheated on Angelina :)

    Either way...not really MY problem.
  • Melissa · 1 year ago
Ginna, Cinna is a stupid name, so let's try to keep it normal, if you think you can. You are not a smart person, so once you have worked through your unfinished business surrounding your tumultuous insecurities because you are fat and ugly, maybe you could just relax, let us pretty people alone, and not be so bitter, then you may have a life, too.

And, with that, I am done with you. Your case is dismissed
  • Cinna · 1 year ago
    Melissa,

You called anna a b*tch and then you called me fat and ugly. why? because we expressed some opinions about some celebrities that none of us will probably ever get to meet nor would they know us from anyone else if we did. At any rate, there is a way to debate, with class and respect. Namecalling because of mere differences of opinions does not fall into either of those categories.

Then ~ you compare yourself to Angelina Jolie by saying, "let US pretty people alone"...Angelina is pretty, yes, however, and you may be the typical version of a beauty queen, too...but as I stated before, you chose not to post pictures...which gives us just your word to go on, now doesn't it?

Regardless, I couldn't care less if you are ugly, beautiful, whatever. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway. Trust me, when your so called beauty fades, my friend, you will still be left with your personality ~ which isn't pretty at all, in my opinion. I thank God for what I have and I sure don't need your approval, honey. Take it or leave it. Yes, I am not a supermodel, nor do I sit behind a screenname and claim to be. I am a normal person ~ which is why I am not Angelina Jolie, lol.

I have a strong feeling that the same applies to you.

Oh, and I still don't think that Angelina Jolie should play Wonder Woman.

And finally, Cinna is a screen name ~not my real name, but I like it nonetheless. Your approval isn't required ;)

Jessica Simpson as WW????? You have got to be joking right, the only thing she is good for is playing dumb and looking good and if anyone thinks she can act take a closer look at Dukes of Hazard.

Great pix of Kate Jonah now if the casting people are smart they will give her the role and if they want the movie to be perfect they will make Lynda Carter play Hippolyta because as we all know she is was and always will be the one and only Wonder Woman and since she is regretfully too old to play WW next logical step would be as her mother.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
    which picture is kate jonah?

OMG, Michael!!! Absolutely!! YES! YES! YES! Lynda Carter would make a perfect Hyppolyta; I think out of respect they should ask her to take the role, or at least have a cameo appearance in the movie, unlike the slight of Adam West in both of the Batman series.

I loved the original television series, and I would love to see Debra Winger and Lyle Waggoner with cameo appearances, also.

Megan Fox, Jessica Simpson, Kate Beckingsale, Charlize Theron, blah, blah, blah. They're all sooooooooo wrong for the part in oh so many ways I wouldn't know where to begin. If you loved the Lynda Carter TV series (ABC/CBS) then you'll clearly want none other than Megan Gale. She's Lynda Carter Jr. for heaven sakes! Not to mention, she reportedly nailed her audition. I this VERY strong feeling that she will be the new iconic version of WW not that Lynda Carter is more age-appropriate to portray WW's equally stunning mother now.

ummm yeah ok yet another model turned so-called actress who probably cant act her way out of a traffic ticket, all we can do is wait and see how she pulls off the role. knowing hollywood they will stick her in high heels and have her act like an uberdyke. Im still sticking with my choice but when has hollywood ever listened to comic book fans instead they do what they think is rite for the movie. oh well what can you do. Maybe Lynda Carter will dislike her so much she will bitch slap her.......one can hope lol-

    Michael, Michael, Michael,

I can certainly appreciate your apprehension when it comes to casting a virtual unknown like Megan Gale to play a character as iconic as Wonder Woman. I mean former Miss. World, Lynda Carter, who's acting gigs prior to Wonder Woman consisted of let's see, according to IMDB there was...

    1.) "Starsky and Hutch" .... Vicky (1 episode, 1976)
    - The Las Vegas Strangler (1976) TV episode.... Vicky
2.) A Matter of Wife... and Death (1976) (TV).... Zelda
3.) Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw (1976).... Bobbie Jo Baker
4.) "Matt Helm”.... Bobbi Dee (1 episode, 1975)
    - Panic (1975) TV episode.... Bobbi Dee
    5.) "Nakia”.... Helen Chase (1 episode, 1974)
    - Roots of Anger (1974) TV episode.... Helen Chase

Hmm...five whole professional acting gigs and former beauty queen, yeah, quite the seasoned actress! NOT!! Actually, her acting resume up to that part was rather similar to Megan Gale's.

    Her's consists of:

    1.) Stealth (2005) .... Dr. Orbit's Secretary
2.) Stregati dalla luna (2001).... Viviana

That's right, Lynda Carter has a whole THREE acting gigs (TV nonetheless) over Megan Gale. STOP THE PRESSES!!!

Instead of beauty pageant winner like Lynda she's a former fashion model. Both had minimal acting experience before taking on the role of Wonder Woman. Both relative unknowns. Hmm... Could there be something to casting Ms. Gale in this role that perhaps parallels that of Lynda Carter's experience?

And as for the uberdyke comment, what Hollywood are you talking about? Yeah, like any female superhero on the silver screen has ever been ultra-dykey?! Sure, Supergirl, Storm, Elektra, Invisible Woman, Batgirl. All soooooooooooo butch! Those Hollywood producers really do love emasculating all those iconic super heroines. Yep, Invisible Woman wore a mustache and Supergirl had and Adam's apple. And don't forget that belt that Storm wore that oddly resembled a tool belt! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

And by the way, get over Kate Beckingsale. She's sooooo not interested in that role and that bit of casting speculation is so last year! Oh, then there's Nadia Bjorlin. Come on! She's got the face of a gray alien! ZOINKS!!!

Take it from me, when Megan Gale dons that star-spangled costume for the first time, you will be crying tears of joy and jubilation! You'll just have to trust me on that one girlfriend!
  • #1fan · 1 year ago

Well one thing is for sure Kanezona you have waaay too much time on your hands to pull up all that crap, it doesnt matter who can act it matters that the person who is picked for the role actually has the attitude and embodies the persona of WW and your pick still falls short in my eyes. Say what you like pull up what stats you want I'm just giving my opinion and last time I checked a person did not have to get all hyper geek to prove ones opinion. In my eyes Beckingsale still is the best bet. Oh and about the uberdyke comment I said that as a joke but since we can all see you are void of a sense of humor you might want to take that up with your shrink (they make pills for that by the way). It's just chat so get over it, there are more important things in the world to get all hyped up about than who gets to play WW. GO BECKINGSALE........lol

Your Special Olympics-calibre responses are AWE-INSPIRING! Truly! Perhaps someday, you will be able to drive a small yellow bus of your own down to Bitterville, USA. It's good to have goals you know.

But your comment about dykes was all in jest, right? Well, actually the jokes on you since you're still rallying for an actress who's so last year and over it. Not to mention the fact that ironically you been spending "waaay too much time" responding to my comments. And if you don't want to be around those who get "all hyped up" about who gets cast as WW, then why would you be at a website that features an article entitled: Justice League: Who Will Be Cast as Wonder Woman? and has a comment section?

Perhaps you might be the one to get a life and change your calender to 2008 while you're at it. Beckingsale is out/Gale is in!

Megan Gale Will Prevail While Beckingsale Will Fail,

    Michael, Sweet Michael,
You can dish it but you sure don't seem to know how to take it. Like you, I too am just kidding. And like you, as a child, I fell in love with Wonder Woman, thanks to a relative unknown at the time, Lynda Carter. I fondly recall watching her tv series a kid, devouring each scene and hungering for another episode as soon as the closing credits and theme song were over. Seeing Wonder Woman brought back to life and on the silver screen has been a dream of mine for the past several decades since the show's demise. Right now, the closest I have gotten is watching the old episodes on our new 46' (please, no size jokes, I can tell that you're some sort of old size Queen...yep, that was a joke, and a laim one at that). But I digress. My hope is most fans of Wonder Woman, that she is portrayed as a complex individual. She's an Amazon, daughter, princess, warrior, former goddess, ambassador, superhero, and fish-out-of-water. So you need someone who can look as well as act the part. Someone with sophistication and regality who sees the good in everyone and wants to change hearts and minds as a result. She's got to be an advocate for women's rights as well as an ally to men. And for GODSAKES...there MUST, MUST, MUST be THE TWIRL!!! As well as the invisible jet. And while we're at it, since she IS a comic book character, why bring back her heeled boots vs her current flat version. It's campy, I know, but it's also fantasy. She's a superhero for KRIPESAKES, not a WWE bulldagger wrestler.

    Over & OUT,

    Kanezona

lol dish it out kanezona I can take anything you throw at me :-) and I am trying with every fiber in my being not to remark on that size thing, don't know how long I can keep quiet about it I may clutch my chest and fall to the floor by keeping it inside. I agree with you she must have the twirl but I'm hoping they don't make her like the tv show or the now version of her where she loses her powers when she is out of costume thats what bugs me more than anything. She was given her powers by the gods her costume wasn't given them. If it's going to be a live action movie they can't put her in high heels because to me that would just be idiotic I feel she would be better off in the flat boots than in heels because when the comic came out and the tv show also they put her in heels to keep her on the fem side you know what I mean? These days it's more practical to have a super hero who actually fights to be in flats than in heels. I also hope that they don't make the movie campy that would just ruin the idea of WW and if they were smart they would follow the path that Phil Jimenez did with her, he made her seem real as well as the supporting cast of characters. He still kept her superhuman yet approachable unlike the Superman and Batman characters, but all we can do is voice our opinions with hopes the directors n such will listen. Boy I guess I had more to say than I thought lol, nice chatting with you kanezone oh and by the way what does kanezone mean is it a real name a cultural name or what? its unique kinda catchy

  • kanezona · 1 year ago
Yeah, I believe she's in her early 20's, like 22 or something. So like I said, she'd make a great Wonder Girl/Donna Troy. And if she wears that Donna Troy/Troia outfit with the sparkley stars they'll only have to cover up the freckles that are all over her face and neck. The lovely tatt on her back will be covered by the costume. Definitely not someone meant to don the iconic Wonder Woman bustiere. So like I said, she'd make a great Wonder Girl/Donna Troy.

By the way, quit typing with your toes, it's really hard trying decipher your little rants.
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
    Michael,

It's good to hear that you can take it. Particularly with your affinity for size and all. And we'll just leave it at that. ;)

The reason for her losing her powers when out of the costume was a plot device. Pull the belt off or have her in her Diana Prince disguise, she was helpless because off of Paradise Island, she would lose all of her Amazonian powers being in Man's World unless she donned her magic belt. Of course that meant that her belt was soft and malleable in order to be easily ripped off of her. I think viewers are going to want to see her belt, tiara, as well as bracelets looking more like real forged metal so the whole soft material for the belt probably wouldn't hold up with today's more sophisticated audiences. So like you, I say, keep her powers a constant. And for GODSAKES, no chloroform crap! She was always getting knocked out with that stuff on the old tv series. I mean, they worked that plot device to death!

As for your point about the high heels being used to promote a more feminine asthetic, you're right. But look at Michelle Pfeifer in that Catwoman costume. Albeit she was portraying a villian, but she did kick some serious butt in those awesome heels! I know it's kinda absurd to think of an Amazon wearing such footwear, particularly in battle, but then again, didn't they supposedly burn off their left breasts and not go running around in a star spangled bustiere?! She's a comic book character, you're gonna have to suspend some disbelief and just buy into the whole Amazon with heels=even taller and deadlier concept.

Yes, she definitely needs to be approachable, which is how Lynda Carter portrayed her. And she was very deadpan, the straight
(wo)man of the show, which was very campy, particularly the ABC 1940's version. But that's what made it fun in my small (please, no size comments thank you) mind at the time. I think some camp like the Superman and Superman 2 films is great. It's campy but not to the point where it becomes a caricature of itself like in Supermans III and IV as well as Batman Returns and Batman & Robin.

As for the meaning behind my screen name, "Kanezona," it would take Wonder Woman's magic golden lasso for you to ever find out the truth behind it. ;))) But thanks for the compliment, nonetheless, Michael. You seem like a pretty swell fella (no swelling comments please). ;)))

    My Sweet #1fan,
All I am doing is speaking the truth as I see it. I love that you have such a strong affinity and appreciation of Wonder Woman as I do. And I appreciate the fact that there are websites like these where #1fans like yourself and I can dialogue about our strong opinions regarding the possible Wonder Woman and JLA films. It's okay to disagree and have a passion behind it. It's another just not to care. I can tell you care. Which makes you coolbeans in my book. ;)))

    Kanezona

PS I am a man and enjoy being just that, a man.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
    ok, lyk how old r u?! u sound lyk a smart/person/intelligent wateva u call peeps lyk u.
    coolbeans in ur book? oh-kayyy.
  • Kanezona · 1 year ago
Thanks #1fan for the compliment. As for my age, well, let's see, how old is dirt...? ;)))

But I digress, the point of this comment section is to address the casting of Wonder Woman. And the last I heard, the JLA flick has been put on hold--yet again...ARGH!!! But whatelse is new. Apparently, Warner Bros. has seen the err in their ways and are going to reboot Superman by classifying the last one, "Superman Returns" as part of an alternate universe, so bye-bye Superman Jr. And they want to make solo superhero flicks before assembling them all together in JLA. So as for who will portray WW, it's anyone's guess now. Perhaps my girl, Megan Gale, is out and Halle Barry is in! LOL Hera help us all. ;)))
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
they're usin the guy from superman returns?! they shuld use tom welling from smallville!!!!!!!!!!!! and funny h.b. joke!
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
    #1fan,

Who said they're using Brandon Routh? Although, I think you're probably correct. Tom Welling would be great if they're going to "re-boot" the recent "re-boot." He'd sure get my vote! It only makes sense. I mean, Brandon Routh has that whole Chris Reeve thing going on so we associate his film with the original two (Superman & Superman 2). Tom Welling we associate with the newer take on Superman, so it only would stand to reason that his actual blue tights/red cape persona would be on film and a reward to all of his loyal and faithful fans.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
oh. well i wonder if Tom Welling looks good in tights! LOL
  • Kanezona · 1 year ago
Yeah, I haven't really put that much thought to it. But from what I've seen of him on the series, he appears to have a pretty good build. If you like tall, smooth, and hunky. LOL
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
i think he could pull it off, i guess. but fyi, thats EXACTLY what i lyk! LOL
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
whats with peeps sayin " i tink Kate Beckinsale or Catherine Zeta Jones playing WW" wats up w/tat? do they hav dung 4 their brains?! not even close 2 b-ing WW!
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
Kate Beckingsale is too short and Catherine Zeta Jones too old in my book.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
yeah! so y do peeps do it? well, cuz their brain is dead and not working. or as small as a pea lyk a crocidile.
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
One thing I think most WW fans would agree on is casting Lynda Carter as the Queen. I'd be stoked just to see her play such an important role in the new WW film mythology.
  • Michael · 1 year ago
Ok I'm back time to catch up on all that I missed....1st ok I have taken a look at this woman they have picked to play WW and she fits the criteria I just hope she can pull it off, as for Megan Fox yes she would be perfect to play Donna Troy and if the directors producers and such are smart they wont stick her in that idiotic costume they stuck Debra Winger in. As for making Tom Welling superman in the JLA movie I'm rite on top of that with you #1 fan and kanezona, putting that plastic faced Brandon Routh in the role would kill it much like the Superman Returns movie (I know it was a popular movie but I think he is too emotionless to be superman). And I REALLY want to see Tom Welling in tights hehehe so sue me I'm a gay man with the hots for Tom and would beat a bitch down at the door to see that lol.
  • Michael · 1 year ago
Lynda Carter as Queen!!!! I agree with Tom Welling playing Superman he has done it for years now even if it is the teen years. To me Brandon Routh is too plastic and cant or doesnt know how to play emotion. And who hasn't been dying to see Tom in tights (excuse the drool). as for the rest of the League they should keep the guys who play Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Flash in the tv show but replace the woman who played Black Canary as she just looked like a Halloween costume gone bad.
  • Michael · 1 year ago
and yes Kanezona I repeated myself, blame it on jetlag lol I just got back from a long well deserved vacation and since I have not won the lottery as of yet I had to come back home to work. So when do they think they are going to do JLA since they shelved it yet again?
  • Kanezona · 1 year ago
    Michael,

I like how you described Brandon Routh as "too plastic and can't or doesn't know how to play emotion." Yep, pretty stiff acting. And not in a good way. ;))) Tom Welling in tights! It's been a long time coming! I think he'd pull it off remarkably! Provided he gets over his fear of flying. LOL And as for you comment about that chick who's playing the Black Canary on a serious meth bender, three words: RECAST! RECAST! RECAST! That scare-do of hers is waaay too butch for the Black Canary and I just don't get the whole black grease paint across her eyes looks like a ballpoint pen blew up in her face!! But don't be puttin down Halloween, it is a High Holy Day for some of us... ;)))
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
kewl! so u agree 2 michael! ur rite bout the hole plastic thing.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
i dont know what Linda Carter looks lyk. i 4got. OMG SORI!
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
i also tink Christian Bale shuld play Batman. he's good and i lyk cant tink of any1 else. how bout u guys?
  • Kanezona · 1 year ago
    Michael,

You asked me when I thought they'd do JLA since they shelved it yet again? Honestly, I think it won't be for another five or six years or so. They're going to roll out the hereos in solo flicks (ie, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, etc.) while building up audience's anticipation of seeing their favorite supes unite in one megafilm (JLA). Personally, I'm glad that WB has finally come to it's senses and decided to go about it this way. I just hope that Megan Gale is still in the running for the role of Wonder Woman. And that way, the actors who portray the heroes in the solo flicks will be in the same continuity as the ones in the JLA, ideally, if they stay with the same actors. Including Christian Bale. Perhaps just not as dark...?
  • Kanezona · 1 year ago
    #1fan,

If you do a Google search you can find a recent pic of her. She's still pretty beautiful for a woman almost in her 60's! How crazy is that?! I know. Christian Bale I think needs to lose that rediculous Batman gutteral voice of his and he'd be alright. And say goodbye to Brandon and hello to Tom.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
5 or 6 years?! tats lyk a long tym!!!!!!! i cant wait tat long! i herd they were gonna do it next year, mabe the year aftr tat.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
kk. ill just do tat. yeah, just needs 2 lose the voice there. toally not batman. totally-tom! bye-brandon!
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
i luked at some pics of lynda, she seems oh-kay. but not brilliant or good. anybody else?
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
Nope, afraid there's just no budging on that one. It's Lynda Carter all the way. It would be sacriledge to cast anyone else BUT Ms. Carter as far as I'm concerned. That's just my opinion, and deep affinity for anything and EVERYTHING Lynda Carter since her name is synonymous with Wonder Woman in my book.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
    oh-kay. well wateva.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
doesnt look 2 much lyk a goddess. but watev.
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
If a JLA film is done, it won't be anytime within this decade. WB just made that decision recently since rolling out the other solo flicks will take some time. Trust me, I've been hearing about the studios developing a WW film for the past 15 years! So a couple more years is just a drop in the bucket.~
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
That's okay, you don't have to agree. Only time will tell.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
well. ok then. i just hope the peeps rn't stupid and choose some1 wrong. but it also sounds lyk their gonna go cheap!
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
What makes you think they're gonna go cheap? I never got that impression. As a matter of fact, from the likes of it, it seems like they'll be pouring some serious green into these films because of the ticket sales that The Dark Knight has generated.
  • Michael · 1 year ago
#1 fan rent Wonder Woman via netflix or do what I did and buy the series lol and you will see exactly why Lynda Carter is THE Wonder Woman just like Christopher Reeves is THE Superman. They were both unknowns but had the chops to BE the superheroes albeit somewhat campy at times but there is no denying they are and always will be the living embodiment of the superheroes. And to make Lynda Carter play Wonder Woman's mother is the icing on the cake. And if you don't think Lynda Carter made WW come to life and made an impact on how people view WW just look at the run Phil Jimenez had on the comic, he held true to the feeling Lynda put into the character and even used the old costumes in the comic. Now that was WW at her ultimate
  • Michael · 1 year ago
and a big merry meet to you Kanezona
  • #1fan · 1 year ago
well, ther was a websyt tat had big headlines saying JLA movie going cheap. but i hope ther not.

  • #1fan · 1 year ago
fyn, ignore. idc!!!!!! you're a freak no offense bout the JLA movies.
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
Justice League film postponed for atleast another five or so years.
  • #1fan · 1 year ago

The actress that plays Lana on Smallville ... Kirsten....______?OR the brazilian victoria secret model - adriana lima - she would be perfect as she already looks like wonder woman with the dark hair and light eyes, strong looking.
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
Okay, what part of "Woman" as in "Wonder WOMAN" don't you get?! I'm sick and tired of people trying to convince others that these barely legal actresses should portray one of DC's holy trinity! Perhaps as a secondary character like Wonder GIRL or even Donna Troy. But NOT Wonder Woman! She's too iconic and crucial to the balance of Superhero Power to be played by some college-age yahoo!
  • buzz · 1 year ago
celeste thorson would be an awesome wonder woman she has that whole action hero thing going on
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
Oh for the love of Pete!
  • Cinna · 1 year ago
kanezona, you do realize that Wonder Woman isn't real, right?

    just kidding...

At any rate, I like the Adriana Lima idea, too :)
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
Actually, if they ever needed to cast for a porn version of WW then I think Adriana would be AWESOME! But since I haven't heard that to be the case right now, I'd say cast her as an OMAC. She'd be PERFECT for the part! Like you, I'm...just kidding. ;)))
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
I love the idea of casting Adriana Lima too! As an OMAC or as Prostitute #5.
  • Cinna · 1 year ago
Kanezona....prostitute #5?!?! lmao! that would cater to a more colorful audience, eh?

But the BIG question is...who would be the first 4 prostitutes?

    :)
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
Pick any of the other non-Megan Gale actresses rumoured for the role. But seriously, when is Warner's going to get this thing off the ground?! And what's taking them so long to issue a release as to the status of either the WW or JLA films?!
  • Cinna · 1 year ago
    p.s. what is OMAC?
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
It is one of four miniseries leading up to DC Comics' Infinite Crisis event. The series directly follows the Countdown to Infinite Crisis special, picking up the story where the special left off. While the OMACs look similar to the earlier Jack Kirby creation OMAC, they are quite different, with a different acronym than the original One-Man Army Corps. OMAC originally stood for Observational Meta-human Activity Construct, but currently stands for "Omni Mind And Community."
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
In the mini-series, the OMACs are modified humans who work as sleeper agents, a product of the Checkmate organization, now led by Maxwell Lord. They possess the Brother Eye spy satellite built by Batman following his realization, after the events of Identity Crisis, that his fellow Justice Leaguers had wiped his memory some years before. The OMAC Project ends with an autonomous Brother Eye having command of over 200,000 OMACs and seemingly planning war on the superheroes, starting with the worldwide broadcast of Maxwell Lord's death at the hands of Wonder Woman.

  • #1fan · 1 year ago
no way! [bout the w.w. thing of m.lords death.]
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
What do you mean by "m.lords death"? Including it in the JLA film? That would be laim. That story line always bugged me, because that's just not Wonder Woman to me. He'd be sent to Transformation Island, now that men are allowed on Themyscira before killing him.

And while they're at it, why not bring back the Purple Healing Ray and the Wonderdome. I loved those things!!!
  • kanezona · 1 year ago
What I meant was he would go to Transformation Island instead of killing him.

  • Thenakedsociety · 12 months ago
Actress Kelly Brook is the perfect choice to play Wonder Woman
  • grayw · 12 months ago
Celeste Thorson would be a powerful yet unconventional WW in these modern times I don't think they should stick to identical image of the original WW she's been done before and better than some duplicate they need to change her image besides they can make anyone look like an amazon in the movies look at Stallone! There are new colors and races who are wonderful women like Beyonce she would be great too. People are too harsh on the big name actresses and even harsher on the small names. Let's see who they pick I bet she'll be great!
  • David Hall · 10 months ago
I think Kristin Kreug would be good. She's slim and beautiful. She would fit gracefully in that tight Wonder Woman costume.
  • cleber.fernandes · 10 months ago

I think kim kardasian would be a good choice as far as looks go.she has the black hair and big breast like linda carter.she is just as pretty in the face. she is alot shorter than linda but makes up for it with a better booty. If she can act the part,i would pick her.I also think she has the same pretty white teeth as linda.Kim is 5'3" and you are looking for girls 21 to 29 and 5'2" to 5'9". kim fits both criteria.
