/Film: Steven Soderbergh’s Che Picked Up By Magnolia Pictures

I like the idea of a cohesive 4 hour presentation of the film, but in reality don't know how much I could enjoy/appreciate it outside of watching it in my living room. I loved Grindhouse as a solid presentation and probably would've enjoyed Kill Bill presented together in the theater, but neither of those films really asked too much out of the audience intellectually and you could just sit back and enjoy.

I worry if this was released as a 4 hour whole it is definitely going to be marginalized and ignored. That said really looking forward to it in whatever form we receive.

I've been hoping this movie/s would get a release. It looks fantastic and the story of Che Guevara is a fascinating one. Those who haven't yet should also check out "The Motorcycle Diaries," about the young Che Guevara.

    I say two parts.

As far as Box Office is concerned, don't worry. There are plenty of idiot teenagers and college kids who think this mass murderer was a "hero". So I'm betting on a lot of attention from the younger crowd.
I hate most people in my generation.

    DOS parts!!!
    VIVA EL CHE PAPO!!!!
    VIVA ARGENTINA,MARADONA Y MESSI!!!!!
To some EL CHE is a hero, he's the
    ultimate revolutionary others have
their own opinion of this ICON
so, I would recommend to a
Better class of criminal to get his
    facts straight... google EL CHE
    and learn something...

kick ass. finally got picked up from a distribution house. i dont care either way ( 4 hour or 2 seperate films) just as long as i get it. i bet del toro rips it up as che

I'd say two parts...the general public isn't going to sit for a 4hour movie even with an intermission...I know some 3hour movies have got away with their long running times while making decent box office...this is award material and could be very profitable on DVD as one film...on the other hand, the only thing that hinders it is the running time of 4hours and the Spanish/subtitles..it's going to feel and look like a foreign film....I don't remember any foreign lang. films doing very well in the States...

That leaked trailer gave me chills, I'm very much looking forward to it...but besides film critics and fellow movie addicts..nobody really cares about this film, it shows with the lack of distribution...I mean if a studio can't market a Cannes winning film there has to be a reason for it...simply release Che in limited then release the two parts a week or month apart...and let the viewing numbers decide the releasing of Che into public theaters...

I hope it doesn't step on the toes of what The Motorcycle Diaries already masterfully covered.

    @Jimmy

I think that's probably inevitable that some of the same material will be covered since it relates to the formation of his ideals. But I would expect the two to supplement each other effectively.

The leaked trailer was Bone Chilling! Can't wait for it to come out, don't matter if it's a 4 hour film!

    Ese Che-Boludo!!

Well I think it will prob only gross around 12 million and it'll prob do this if it released in 2 parts or just 1...Id rather see it in 1 sitting with a intermission.....

Watched the first part (The Argentine) yesterday in Spain (the movies are co-produced by a Spanish TV station) and I would say that a 4h screening looks fitting, because the movie ends a bit abruptly in a cliffhanger that wouldn't be out-of-place on a TV show such as Lost or Prison Break (I'm talking about the "I want more" feeling you get from these shows, not the content of the nature of cliffhanger itself).

And I have to say that Benicio del Toro is a wonderful Che Guevara.

Maybe they can trim his mustache get him to play a glorified Hitler in his next film. Sure, the Nazis didn't kill as many people as Che and his commie friends, but it could still be good.

We should celebrate murderous, fascist thugs like Che whenever possible. It's just so wonderful...

    Idiots.

....J.D cmon if youd be better informed you would realize who the real CHE was. Not a "murderous, fascist" but a differently revolutionary leader, one with views far different from any or most leaders of this time. And about the film I would seat thru the four hours, altought I preffer the two part; either way the MOVIE will make its worth.

I'de be interested in a Hitler biopic as well, actually.

Oh, and Che was not a murderous fascist. He was a murderous communist.

just goes to show you how stupid people can be. I bet you never ead a book about che, and you are just repeating what you heard some dumb ass friend of yours say.
Think for yourself puto , and get an education. You could have learned something from che!!!
