Its funny and sad at the same time when I read the racist hate for a 11 year old kid. Who cares that there is a remake of an original movie? Don't go to see it if you feel this way but to sit at your lonely computer while watching your KK 84 on your VCR while wearing your under-roos and hate on a kid is sad.

Hopefully you will shut the heck up next time before seeing a movie before you start hating.

This movie is a success and your sad and pathetic lives are still a failure. Now go put on your blue vests and get to your jobs at Walmart.

LOL, so much hate. The remake was actually pretty good guys, just cause it's a remake, doesn't mean that it has to be the EXACT same thing. All that matters is that it was a similar concept. I actually like how it's called the Karate Kid when it's not about Karate, it's like they're paying respect to the original even though they're going in a different direction

While it is the natural thing for parents to push their children forward in life, in this case the Smiths also pushed Jaden into our lives as a salable entertainment commodity, which sadly he isn't! At the current prices for movie tickets, he ain't worth the price of a ticket. The film should not have used the name Karate Kid as it is misleading and contributes further to the real disappointment I felt after buying the tickets to this disaster. Skip it!

I wouldnt have a problem with it if it was named something else. Karate is Japanese. Kung-fu is Chinese. It was really fucked up when Hollywood put out Memoirs of a Geisha and used all Chinese and Korean actors. Its tantamount to saying 'all asians look the same'. I love Karate Kid, I think Jaden is a good actor, but I'm not buying into the whole "black karate kid" remake.

It can't be a "Karate Kid" Remake if they're practicing Kung-Fu. And Jackie Chan would so not make a good Miyagi.
He basically took ideas from The Karate Kid and was like "Hey son, lets totally butcher my favorite movie only make it The Kung-Fu Kid."
"But wont it be the same movie only differently titled?"
"No, were just going to include the elements of bonzai trees, the scene with the fly, the car washing, fence painting scenes and some other stuff associated with it. And its gonna be in China!"
"But I dont speak Chinese! And neither does the character."
"Well we'll have the replacement Mr. Miyagi teach you that too, and then the whole movie will be in Chinese!"
This was such a bad idea, I swear.
And Jaden's not even a teenager yet, is he? So its all gonna have little kids in it. Yeah. That's WAY better.
