I am thrilled to have been saved by the blood of Jesus and pray that everyone knows the joy I have found in Him. I hope this movie touches many more in such a way that they question "Who is Jesus? Is He real? Can I really be changed by Him? Can my marriage be saved by Him?" The answer is "YES"!!!

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

And you get all this from personal conversations with him? I'm married with two sons and I often feel that I'm only thought of as the maid. No one else lifts a finger to help with anything unless I go on a screaming tirade. Usually I have to morph into this screaming banshee in order for the boys, husband included, to get off their backsides to do anything. Often I'm resentful and bitter at my predicament, and those feelings bleed over into more intimate areas of our relationship.

After seeing this movie, I'm trying not to focus so much on the negative, and I'm trying to watch the sarcasm. Maybe they're really NOT as lazy and uncaring as they so often seem - maybe it's just my constant fussing that's the root of the problem. So, instead of constantly belittling them and trying to "fix" them, I think it's time I work on fixing me.

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

I am also a Christian and an avid movie buff.
This is my opinion if Christians wanna see a movie that caters them and are paying good money (33mil and counting on this movie alone). then by all means more power to them. If a church can turn 500,000 into over 30 million and get its message across then clearly they are not the stupid ones.

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

the way it works is just like getting a ticket to see the grateful dead. "Ticket Links" and other such companies buy bulks of tickets and sell them to the public....sometimes radio stations will get several hundred for promotional events.......working the same way; churches and other Christ based groups will buy up big numbers of tickets in order to cover the number of people in there congregation that wants to see the event. I'm sure there are people that buy a ticket that doesn't get to go (just like the grateful dead) but I'm sure they didn't spend hard earned money just to make God awesome....He doesn't need the help in that department.....is this something that you reaaally needed an explaination for anyway.

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

ok mr jeff b...good for you, and I agree.

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

ok.....so a few corrections...lol........anyone who says in his "heart" that there is no God is a fool.....made another boo boo but ya got the drift.

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

anyone who isn't a christian will find fault with (and condem) anyone who truely follows Christ....here it is in a nut shell; if you claim to be a christian and you have a problem with someone else who claims christianity...check yourself, first, before you decide someone else's doorstep needs to be cleaned....ie: "get the beam out of your eye before you try to remove the moat from someone else's"......and if you're a fool (on authority from God's word...
..."anyone who says in his hear that there is no God is a fool) them just don't watch the movies and ya won't have a thing to worry about......not until after death, anyway.

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

Great Movie. Rod said that was a good movie. We can home and the holy spirit nugged me. He said you can let that be just a good movie or you can use it to open doors for your life. I was scared to death I could never talk to Rod about God for his life. I said a prayer for courage. God gave me the courage to go down stairs and say Rod we need to talk. He looked at me strange. he said we can go upstairs to the bedroom if you want to talk. I said I don't just want to talk we need to talk to each other. An hour and a half later Rod and I dedicated our lives and our marriage to God. We surrendered it all to him. I told Rod things i never had the nerve to talk about. About passion, and respect and how i always wanted a marriage that few people had. I wanted a husband who I could honor respect and love and also have passion in my marriage He would be my best friend, and lover. One that I could tell every thought and emotion to. I said we can only be like that if we commit it to God and that God is first in our life. We prayed together and repented of our sins. We never prayed together except at meals. He is a changed man. I know there are things that will come along but if we truly have God first and each other next we we be fine.
I am so happy He is truly a changed man. My son noticed and asked what s up with him I told him. He said I see it. The firehouse comradry rang false, (and much worse) the professional behavior (such as the removal of an SCBA "Self Contained Breathing Apparatus" and other "leather lung" behaviors (in a fire situation) run counter to basic lessons taught in fire school, as they put other innocent lives at risk. In other words if say a fireman takes off their gear to be a hero and becomes trapped, then that will in turn require one of his fellow firefighters (who uses common sense) to risk their life in a rescue attempt.

5. Kirk Cameron's laughable and out of character Southern California accent in a land where everyone sounds like a extra from Gone With The Wind.

6. Saddened for the people who reject God, because what they will have to endure for eternity is horrible. Kirk Cameron doesn't damn people to Hell on his website, he simply states what the Bible says, that when we do not acknowledge that our sin comes between us and God, we cannot enter Heaven. Many of you will say, that it's arrogant to think that there is only one way to Heaven. It's not though, it's that we believe what the Bible says. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE ONES WHO HAVE BAD COMMENTS ABOUT THE MOVIE, I HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR YOU. 'What IF you are wrong and the Bible and the Christians are right?" Then it looks like you are in BIG trouble. I strongly urge you, for your sake, not mine or Kirks, to really think about it...read Kirk's testimony. click on this link or type it in (I hope it works) http://www.christianitytoda...

He (Kirk) was an athiest, he didn't want anything to do with God either. It's not something he dreamed up, trying to make himself better than other people. God really showed himself to Kirk because he prayed and asked God to. He really didn't want anything to do with Him at first, just like many of you.

Undoubtedly, if you give this any thought, you will have lots of questions. there are great websites (in addition to the Bible) that answer questions you may have. www.christiananswers.net www.answersingenesis.org, are two very good ones. You must be careful of some sites, they may lead you astray, some have just enough truth in them to look good, but deviate from the real truth and decieve you. The truth is in the Word of God. Read it and study it and you will find true peace, contentment and joy. BUT, REJECT IT AND YOU'LL BE SORRY FOR ETERNITY. Josh McDowell too was an athiest and set out to prove the Bible a farce. Instead he wrote the book "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" showing the inumberable reasons we can believe the Bible. Hundreds of prophecies fulfilled to the T hundreds of years after the prophecy...and so much more! Another great book is called "The Answers Book" by Ken Ham (based on scientists findings), I sell that one on my website www.DinosOnTheArk.com but you can also get it at www.answersingenesis.org, the website I listed above.

I could write and write, telling you how awesome it is to be a Christian, yes there are people who call themselves Christians, but have not really invited God to be part of their lives, and they may seem hypocritical and turn you away from God, but I plead with you not to let them determine your eternity. You are responsible for you! Check out God and the Bible, for yourself, you have nothing to lose, but EVERYTHING to gain! Maybe the reason Christians seem a little pushy is cause we're so excited to let you know how awesome it is... knowing the God of the universe, the One who offers us hope in this world messed up by sin!!! (Another thing to keep in mind is that God created a perfect world, it only got imperfect when sin entered the world, read Genesis 1-11.) This isn't the world God intended for us, but He knew we were going to screw it up, so He offered a plan of redemption. Then, when this world is gone, He will make a new Heaven and Earth (Revelation) for us to live in for eternity. But only if we repent and ask Him to be part of our lives.

Again, so much more I could say...I just pray that you will think, search, read and pray before you make judgments that only make you miserable. Thank you!

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

Wow, helpmerhonda, that was real insightful.

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

WOW THAT BOB GUY IS RIGHT YOU GUYS ARE WHACKED!

Re: WTF: Fireproof Made Over $6.5 Million This Weekend?

true christians. as defined by His Word, do not use profanity. check your Bible.
